[rant] rage

Anyone just seen the news on the BBC?

Bunch of MP's no one has heard of moaning about the number of emails they've received from their constituents telling them they are theiving scum.....

"It's not what I came into politics for" said one embezzeling anonymous suit. "I was acting within the rules" he continued ashamedly

Is it just me who thinks they just don't get it? The little book of guidelines they have says "...not likely to bring the house into disrepute..." so how can they all stand up there on the telly and claim that their rabid theft is "within the rules"??

It clearly says don't claim it if it's taking the piss.....! just what part of "you're taking the piss" do these knitting circle rejects not understand?

They are more famous for the expenses they've fiddled than for the contribution to society they've made by entering parliament. I'd vote the lot of these homophobic shirt lifters out if there was a viable alternative... Whatever happened to political integrity and politicians you can respect?

[/rant]

Sorry... I've no doubt this has been done to death on here already but just needed to vent.

just to add my bit , these are the people who tell us normal scrotes what to eat , what to drive , how much we can earn , and everything else in your life they seem to have a hand in ,
if these tts had any morals at all this wouldnt be an issue but the way they hold up their hands now and start nodding and agreeing about the system beeing at fault makes my blood boil . WHY ARENT THESE ttS ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED FOR FRAUD , FALSE ACCOUNTING ,TAX EVASION .
if i did what thye have done i would be sat waiting for the police now !!
but then again i dont have the police in my pocket .
if this was a warmer country there would be riots by now but us good old brits shrug our shoulders put our hands back in our pockets and give them some more money , after all its going to cost a bit for the enquiry isnt it (behind closed doors no doubt )

They deserve to be prosecuted, it's blatant fraud!

Lets hope this turns into some action.

First it was the bankers, now it’s the politicians.
Next we will see just how much of a corrupt client the solicitors are willing to take on to defend these thief’s.

There's a big gap between Legality and Morality, and as my old Granny used to say "Just because you can doen't mean you should"

I think that was after being charged £4 for a bottle of water, but it applies to expences, and conduct generally.

The only UK paper I see is the Wail, they are appealing for donations and private prosecuters for this very cause

Everywhere else in the country, expenses are just that, expenses incurred doing your job and ONLY incurred doing your job. These are not expenses, they are allowances, and used to be popular iht a lot of companies, ......until the Govt cracked down and insisted on tax being paid on any subsistence allowances, making more paperwork and admin for businesses and thir employees who now have to log every single receipt.

One rule for one, one for the other, of course there is thn the case that most abused this system, they are total self serving scum too, and should be put in the stocks.

I think they forget they are elected representatives and must act FOR US. not themselves.

We should reclaim this country from these thieving pikey scumbags. They can only represent us if they are forced to live by the same rules. If not, they are detacthed from our relaity and should not be there as they cannot act in our best interests.

At least Fred the Shred pays tax on his ridiculous Govt sponsored handouts!

They don't need solicitors of course. Let's just jail them without any trial.

By all means complain about the corruption, but try to think a little. Being a liberal democracy, we have a court system in which anyone, even an MP, has a right to conduct a defence against whatever charges he is called ot answer.

PS, the plural of "thief" is "thieves". No apostrophe.

What's the betting they'll want to put their legal defence costs on their parliamentary expenses.

One thing I want to know is, what is their claim cycle? Do they submit a claim each month, or it is done once a year and then just left?

If its once a month, there is no way any of these "honest mistakes" (sic) could be made about the mortgages. That would make it fraud, pure n simple, and that means instant dismissal for gross misconduct and criminal proceedings.

Does anyone know if a mass protest is being planned???

Their antics somehow make Archer/Aitken/Hamilton sort of seem "amateur". We need folk to stand as Independents.

Very well put by Martin Bell.

Interesting point - this is a dispute between the entire House of Commons and the British Electorate.

Thanks Zod. Though I’m not sure if your reply was more to do with democracy or apostrophe'sbiggrin
I will blame Microsoft’s spell check on this one.

Very true, I get an allowance at work for holding a qualification in a specific area, yet it is taxable.

Are these second home allowances taxed? I dont think they are?
