Am i the only one who finds it difficult to watch the BBC news bang on about expenses claims from MP's whilst flying around in a helicopter over MP's houses saying how they (the MP's) are exploiting the claims system? Surely their report and manner in which it was done was a huge waste of licence fee payers money...

And I hope the BBC are going to plant a few trees to offset the carbon emmission for their 'flight', as I am very concerned about global warming, and love polar bears

The BBC is not fit for purpose. Simple as that.

I'd agree with that.

Hopefully when Cameron gets in the BBC's licence fee days are numbered.

What's the problem? I can see the copter and can surmise that its paid for through the fee. The fee that I really do not have a problem with. They have not tried to disguise it as a sink plug for a flipped second home and fobbed people off saying "rules is rules" and "we know better than you so shut up".

Do enjoy the tat that will be broadcast when the BBC has been nailed. For one you'll lose F1. Don't forget ITV are nearly broke, so that leaves the joy of Sky. Which will cost you a lot more that a BBC licence

I begrudge paying every penny of the £142.50. Why should I have to pay for something I don't want, need or use.

We should all have a choice whether we want to waste our hard earned on a bunch of directors, actors, news readers, camera men etc and all the hangers on.

Does anyone know how many households pay this fee?

£142.50 x 30,000,000 licences?? That would be £4275 million in licence fee money they have to play with. Can you imaginge the waste!

The Concept of the BBC works well for me, it's just it's gone a bit wrong recently.

Personally I think the BBC was one of the few things you could be proud about in this country, Genuiely good programming, an internationally acclaim broadcaster that made a difference. The problem is it's too political, following th government and climate change agendas.

Personally, having radio without adverts, a grand prix without adverts and really great programs like Planet Earth or Top Gear make it work the fee. Without the BBC I'd probably stop listening to the radio - I can't stand commercial radio that much. But please, please, can we loose the green / socialist agenda.

I'd agree, but it should not be "law if you have a TV you must pay to watch it!"

As much as I despise the unbridled bias of some aspects of the BBC, the Italians have to pay a 'TV Tax' of almost £100 per year to the prime Minister's TV company, and there is not one programme worth a single Cent of that money.
