Well old Tone claimed 43,000 on expenses but it appears that the receipts have been "accidentally shredded" so we won't know what he claimed for.
Funnily enough, officials seem to have "accidentally" shredded the files even though they were the subject to an ongoing legal challenge.

Anyone surprised?

Judging by the cat's facial expression.....I don't think you're too far off the truth!

Hmm, shredding evidence in an on-going legal enquiry sounds a bit like perjury to me.

The Daily Mail are printing a story that Tony Blair claimed £43k over 3 years.

For a world leader it is fk all, I wouldn't even waste someones time checking them. As that would cost more than the expenses!

Jees talk about you lot missing the bigger picture.

Surely the bigger picture is trust? The monetary scale of the issue is nothing. But this has cemented the fact that these tts cannot be trusted to do anything that is in the nation's interest.

The fact we should not be surprised does not make it any better.

That the expenses got "accidentally" shredded probably points to the fact that there was something seriously embarrassing for Bliar.
My bet would be that the 2nd home allowance got flipped onto the dodgy flats Cherie got a great deal on from Peter Foster.
It doesn't matter what the amount is, world leader or not. It's the principle and almost certainly would have shown TB up to be a crook.

The most dishonest, dishonourable and incompetent Prime Minister this country has ever seen. Let's hope he gets indicted for war crimes, and gets locked away with his mate Gordon for his part in the wrecking of the economy.

Does anyone seriously think he was on the fiddle? For 40 grand? Pull the other one. He loses more than that down the back of the the sofa these days. It's not like the normal MP's where they're essentially doubling their income.
