Did anyone else see the report on the BBC 6 o'clock news?

Scientists now have accurate data that the Arctic ice cap will be gone during summer months, 20 years from now. Winters will show a thin sheet of ice. Honestly.

The big melt is happening much faster than previously thought, and the BBC showed pictures of how thin and slushy the ice is near the edges, and filmed someone falling through it, then a submarine surfacing through it. Yawn.

At least it's warm there then, I've turned my heating on this evening here in Somerset, and it's the middle of May!

I really begrudge having to pay the BBC £142.50 every year. Is there any way around it?

LOL, I too had similar thoughts when listening to that piece-of-junk-school-rag-level of journalism.

How many 'Worse than previously thought's' is that now!

Isn't that the normal state for the arctic anyway? (Normal in the context of modal in this case).

Now where's that article on the guy who's the only scientist qualified to comment on the temperature of the oceans because unlike the other scientists, this is his speciality, and he's calling bullst on all this? Was it posted on here? I really need to bookmark these things!!

Fot those that want a good laugh or possibly a cry, it's being repeated on BBC News24 (sky channel 503) in a few minutes time, and probably all evening.

Did you see the report in ‘New Scientist’ by seven eminent climate change world experts?

They said climate change was a natural cycle.

The Earth having a roughly a 100 year warming, then a 100 year cooling cycle, guess where we are now?

They based their evidence on 10 years of study into ice cores taken at the poles that looked back several thousand years. They went public to stop all the climate change myth, no-one listened. BBC only like bad-news.

Aside from this indisputable evidence two things puzzle me about the climate change Nazis:

(1)why have the government pounced on climate change as a tax vehicle, Same excuse for fuel companies putting up prices.
(2)Only humans would be self obsessed enough to think that 20 years of industrialization has had an impact on the Earths ecosystem.

So, you can thank the hippies for increasing your taxes, fuel bills I’m off to nock the central heating thermostat up a couple of notches.

This is great, it will open up some really useful shipping routes.

Has anyone else noticed that these people and their terminally cretinous followers cite data from hundreds of years ago which they back up with figures measured by satellite?

Don't forget folks an area of forest the size of Wales is chopped down everyday and has been for the last 30 years. Good job we've got an unlimited supply of forests to chop down then.
