I thought maybe we could have a running commentary on today's PMQ's as it could be quite interesting (there is a PMQ today, right? Gordon hasn't wormed his way out of it has he?)

For those of us with no TV access, anyone have any streaming links?

I found this: http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page306 but don't know how reliable it is.

I think they show it on BBC iplayer. Parliament channel and BBC1 and News I think.

Should be a good one today.

I'm just intruiged as to how GB will frame his answers, taking into account the need to say "before 1997" at every turn.

There will be lots of Labour references to Swimming pools and moats though biggrin

As an aside, did anyone else watch Newsnight last night and find it odd that they mentioned, straight after the expenses section, the repossessed house valued at 2.5 mil£. I did, until I heard the presenter specifically mention that it had a tennis court and swimming pool. The whole thing seemed to be shown to imply that Tories live in multi million pound houses. >>tinfoil hat off<<

I tried to start a recurring PMQ thread here. We can either have a weekly one or re-use?

Never mind Newsnight Tory bashing pools and moats.

Did anyone clock Paxo referring to Norman Tebbit as a weasel.

He actually stuck a few more defamatory words in as well but I can't remember them.

It was blatant bias, in yer face, no attempt to 'balance' (like the BBC even tries to bother anymore) a viewpoint.

Very naughty and I hope he gets bked for it.

Found it on iPlayer. Funny how it's not working on either the Parliament website or the No.10 link.

Guess they don't want people watching

Eh?

How did you quote someone that poasted after you?

Anyway - from what I can gather from the BBC text is that CMD is putting forward specific ideas and Brown is just spouting sound bites such as 'trying to build a consensus on change, which is the "way forward'.

Wierd....it was there before I quoted it.....odd huh?

You are right with regard to the soundbited.

Cameron is playing a clever game here. Labour needs these allowances as their party cannot afford to replace them.

I was expecting a bit more anger though to be honest. Very statesman-like though, which is a good image to project.

Nick Clegg: Get all MP's out of the property game all together

Brown: blah blah blah

Clegg: He's still making it too complicated. .... stop taxpayer funded mortgages...

  • cue heckling*
Brown: I know CGT has to be paid, that is the first priority... *avoiuds rest of Clegg's questions*

You are Doc Emmet Brown AICMFP - show off wink

I agree wit htyhe fella on the Beeb site that said - Gordon Brown seems to think that continually repeating the phrase "radical proposals" equates to providing the country leadership. It doesn't.
