They won't be doing it much longer, all being well.

I'm not sure what disgusts me more, the fact that they have the audacity to claim these types of expenses, or the fact that it is "within the rules".

In politics the phrase 'wasn't doing anything wrong' is invariably followed a week later by resignation.

We can only hope smile

And to think how this Govt got elected:

'Tory sleaze'
'No more boom & bust'
'Prudent'

I can only hope they all die horribly, especially the slimebag held to rights on camera by Joanna Lumley today.

The paper also says Gordon Brown claimed for the same plumbing work twice at his constituency home in successive quarters.

However, No 10 said the Parliamentary Fees Office accepted this was done inadvertently and had written to Mr Brown to apologise for not spotting the mistake.

Holy snot, you couldn't make this up...

Winky...Oh, I made a mistake, nudge, nudge, wink, wink

Fees Office...Oh, so you did, sorry for not telling you, nudge, nudge, wi....er, nudge, nudge

I highligted that very same passage to post here before finding this thread.

Amazing isn't it?

Fees office's fault??

Do they really expect that to wash.....really?

I'll give the PM the benefit of the doubt on this one, although why he can't just hold his hands up and admit the mistake, god only knows. Bunker mentality shining through once more.

I am actually quite surprised that Gordo has been dragged into this. If it was his only "mistake", and given he surely must have known about its public outing due to the recent scrum, why didn't he pre-emptively mention it?

Now, rightly or wrongly, he will look a hypocrite for criticising other genuine abusers.

It amuses me that even the simple things seem beyond No10 right now.

Is Winky's brother a plumber as well as a cleaner?

Scum the lot of them. These are the tos posts who have not increased the mileage rates we can claim net of tax for 6 years..... cos cost of motoring is the same, isn't it...?

The thing is though that we all know nothing will happen to any of them. I wouldn't even be surprised if it carries on.

Or get worse, as they realise the game is up they will ransack the country for everything they can get.
