Breaking news: PC charged with PC girlfriend's murder

A police officer has been charged with the murder of his police constable girlfriend's murder.

Claire Howarth, 31, was found with serious head injuries after a car crash in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and died later in hospital, police have said.

The injuries were not consistent with having been caused in the collision, a police source said.

Martin Forshaw, 26, is to appear in court later.

So? Man charged with killing his partner.

Surely it's got Sweet F.A. to do with him being a 'copper', bad or otherwise?

Man attacks wife/partner? It's all too common in the UK sadly.

IIRC, over 50% (I think it's far higher, but hedging by bets) of people are killed by someone they know.

Far, far higher by someone they know. In my experience 8/10 murders are by partners

It would appear so. This is the 2nd thread i've read this evening alone focused on the Police and the 3rd i've read in the last 2 days.

Actually, its something I would normally take note of and possibly post up, regardless of either parties employment status. I have no vendetta.
(But I wouldnt use the same thread title. )

On any other "Policeman does something wrong/ stupid/ dangerous" thread, we get the BIB on here and SP and L understandably sticking up for the policeman, telling us we "cannot comment until we know all the facts", and that anyone who does has a problem with the cops or a "chip on their shoulder" etc etc.
This case must be a real dilema for them, as it appears one copper may have done somethig to another, not an MOP.
They all seem a little quieter on the "esprit de corps" suddenly. The OP clearly has an agenda vs the police, bur let's not forget, he IS entitled to it and people should not resort to name calling etc which is a breach of PH policies lest we forget.
The same as the BIB are entitled to stick up for their fellow officers whether it be death by dangerous driving, G20 hippy bashing, elf and safety not sitting on a bicycle or one officer being arrested on suspsicion of murdering another.
BY all means pass an opionon on the subject and each other's posts, but the name caling and blatant braking of PH rules by certain members is getting tiresome. A bit of banter is one thing, but it is getting out of hand IMO and seems to be totally unmoderated anymore.

Why did you not put this in your other Police thread instead of starting another o the same subject? Certainly your war with the coppers can be consolidated into one big thread. biggrin
