There is a very practical and biological reason why insects and arachnids cannot exceed a certain size, even if the have been exposed to Zeta-klux radiation in the Ntambio desert from an alien spaceship from the plant Tharg. It's to do with oxygen diffusion, spiracles, lack of lungs and surface area/volume ratio.

'a certain size' is big enough thank you.I have a dead tarantula (safely in a glass case) that is about 10inches across and has 2cm long fangs!
