Mike Savage and Jackie Smith.
Discussion
For those who want to listen to the show in the UK it is currently streaming on WNTP. The website streamingradionguide dot com lists when it's next on. Either listen on a PC or WiFi Radio.
He is a bit extreme but he is thought provoking and often right. He doesn't advocate violence.
What Smith is doing is completely wrong and uninformed and make the UK government (and therefore all of us) look like a bunch of idiots. As the story is breaking Savage hasn't found out all there is to know about her, bath plugs etc, will be interesting when he does.
He just had a great line "looks like I'll have to cancel my summer trip to England for dental work"

The IP block thing is only if you go direct to the station website, if you listen via Reciva or one of the other streaming technologies then it's fine.
The station websites block non US traffic not because they don't want us to listen but because of demand from advertisers as it makes the numbers more difficult for them to agree and that's important as it relates to their funding. Having said that there are a number of ways around IP blocks - main way is finding an open proxy.
The Savage Nation show has just finished on that AM station and I don't think it'll be on again until late this evening UK time.
You can learn a lot about the US and the attitudes from people like Savage and of course Russ Linbaugh, most of us wouldn't agree with a lot of what they say but it is very entertaining.
Point is it is about free speech and what Smith is doing - like so many other things she has done recently - is just wrong on every level.

Didn't the "land of the free" refuse Lily Allen entry for an unproven case of assault on a photographer in the UK?
People in glass houses and all that.......
If you have a criminal record you may be refused entrance to the US (unlike Australia where it is a requirement for entry ).People in glass houses and all that.......
In fact, people with criminal records are also barred from the UK - if anyone bothers tto check, of course, which they don't.
This radio presenter has no crminal record so there is no reason why he should be barred.
Slightly OT;
But reading the BBC story regarding Savage and his barred entry to the country, it lists some other people who are barred from entering.
One of those people is the ex Ku Klux Klan grand wizard.
I found it Hilariously Ironic that this guys name happened to be Stephen Black!
Back on Topic;
I think its a slippery slope when we start barring people entry to the country based on what they say/think, no matter how hateful those thoughts are.

GOVERNMENT'S 'BANNED LIST' MAKES EVERYTHING ALL BETTER
THE government's decision to ban some foreign people with unpleasant views has made everyone incredibly nice, it was confirmed today.
Within minutes of the Home Office announcement, racists, violent extremists and homophobes agreed to put down their placards and stop being so ruddy unpleasant all the time.
The Reverend Fred Phelps, the US psychopath who thinks all soldiers are gay witches, said: "The British government makes an excellent point. I will stop thinking these thoughts immediately."
He added: "Would you like to touch me on the bottom?"
And militant Islamic fruitcake, Safwat Hijazi, said: "Did I really say the infidels should be beheaded and that we should paint our mosques with their blood? That doesn't sound like me - I must have been drunk.
"Anyway, who's up for a double bill of Jesus Christ Superstar and Fiddler on the Roof?"
The government acted after a handful of British tourists were infected with horrid, nasty thoughts on the plane home from Acapulco.
Julian Cook, from Bristol, said: "About half way through the flight I turned to my wife and said, 'I don't want to go back to Britain, it's full of black people and homosexuals'. And she said she felt exactly the same way."
The government has today sent a leaflet to every home in the country advising what to do if you find yourself being a bigot, including wiping down hard surfaces with Dettol and spending a long weekend in the Lake District with an Asian lesbian.
Meanwhile people across Britain are demanding that any 'banned list' must include the pathetic couple from the BT adverts.
Tom Logan, from Hatfield, said: "I thought we'd got rid of them, but they're back and if we do not do something now it will be fking weddings and fking babies and it will go on and on and on."

Picturing Omid Djalili saying this has sent me into histerics. Man that guy is funny.

According to the Times, some of the list have never sought entry to the UK - in fact 2 are currently serving 20 years each in Russian jails.
A PH and Louis Theroux favourite, Fred Phelps Sr is on the list though!
Nothing but a bit of headline grabbing - which it appears is going to cost Smith dearly. City lawyers are falling over themselves to represent Savage in his defamation lawsuit.
Edited to make the 'plaintiff' correct

Have you ever known a government more able to shaft themselves up their own collective backsides!! A PH and Louis Theroux favourite, Fred Phelps Sr is on the list though!

I saw some of his contrived predictable crud the other day and wondered WTF had happened to comedy shows in this country. From the country and channel that brought Fawlty Towers, Morecombe and Wise, etc, I nowadays find myself smirking a bit at the odd US comedy show, (Everybody Loves Raymond and Two and a Half Men), but find British comedy extremely poor, with that Djalili guy right at the bottom of the barrel! Picturing Omid Djalili saying this has sent me into histerics. Man that guy is funny.
Must be a generational thing, ie I am getting old, or maybe the PC BBC have just dumbed down everything so much, anyone remebering the "good old days" feels cheated?
