Apparently sitting on a bike is too dangerous for Police
Discussion
Heaven forbid he ever has to do something really dangerous like apprehend a criminal! He only had to sit on it; not ride it anywhere.

My personal view would be concern if anything happens to me while on the bike and it hasn't been risk-assessed or insured. In this day and age you have to cover all bases. It's the way of the world.
Wrong. It's the way of pathetic individuals unworthy of the police uniform.Justayellowbadge said:
What a pitiful failure.
I bet he couldn't even catch a few crabs.
I bet he couldn't even catch a few crabs.
do you mean crabs or 'those crabs'
so you have to do a risk assesment to sit on a bike then? bet he doesnt do one when eating a donut/having a dump.
if we are going this far with risk ass, what would he do if a crazed heroin addict came at him with a needle? do a quick risk assesment then say no?
no disrespect to the ph BiB, just that twonk in the pic

Yes - should go without saying. However maybe they're oversensitive not having carried out a risk assessment regarding valid PH comment
It would be interesting to get PH BiB comment if team loyalty doesn't stand in the way of stating the obvious

We don't have the full story here. You are just criticising him because of prejudice against the police. I will wait until the full facts are known.
ETA: for what it's worth I've been proficient in riding a bike since I was about 3-4... when my father removed the stabilisers.

Most forces operate strict rules on bikes. In my force you are not allowed on a mountain bike unless you complete a weeks course. If caught on one without you face disciplinary action.
I would suggest the daily mail have ignored some of the the facts around the incident and have spun it as they wish. I would suggest as it is the officer himself who raised the issue, he did so to force his managements hand into giving him the course to allow him to use the tool they had been gifted.
He is not able to highlight the stupidity of being gifted a bike he cannot ride if he is shown riding it can he.
Still carry on with the insults, why wait for all the information.

TBH this is utterly preposterous as well !!! .
A full week of pay and removing an officer from duty before they can get on a bike? FFS....
