i realise there are other swine flu threads, but they didn't seem to cover my question as such (sorry if I have missed one that does)

but do you guys think that perhaps we are going a bit overboard with precautions when one of the maintenance guys where i work pops in to 'disinfect my phone'.

i kid you not.

surely this flu bug has been hyped out of all proportion by the media and the cynic in me says to divert us from the recession. i am not that worried, and i am diabetic, so 6 times more likely to catch it apparently.

what do you lads and ladies think?

I think you should disinfect your phone on a regular basis anyway – flu or no flu.

Yes, hyped madness... but don't worry, the whole thing will evaporate without trace when they realise there isn't a way to tax it and global warming will be back in the headlines.

I think your going to get it first then.

Your correct. Without the media hype we wouldn't know about it and wouldn't catch it. I can pretty much garantee than noone in my village in Wales has ever been to Mexico and unless the pigs fly over here, crash through my roof and sneeze on me then im not going to catch it.

why? If we got rid of all the antibacterial antiviral anti anything that might ever come into contact with you type cleansers then maybe the populace would begin to build up natural immunity again and the bugs would stop mutating into things we can do nothing about.

Gets RIGHT on my tits the way every bug has to be stamped out with chemicals.

what i cant get my head around is why they didn't screen all incoming passangers on flights from mexico in the first place, shirley this would have stopped the potential spread of it in the first place, far more cost effective non?

P.s. i wish we had a phone sanitiser, or even a fecking cleaner wouldn't go a miss!

Or just detain them all. Dont let anyone out of Mexico until they are all dead or the flu has gone away. They were stupid enough to go to the country let them live with it.

Earlier this year we were going to be poor.
Now we're going to die horribly AND be poor. Gotta love the media!
