After reading the thread about the obese scumchav feeding her kids on McD's it makes you wonder...

Why aren't the vast majority of benefits paid in vouchers to fund:-

-food/drink (excluding fast food outlets)
-electricity
-gas
-water

Anything else is just a luxury, why couldn't some sort of voucher system work and why hasn't it happened since the war?

Discuss.

I'm guessing it would breech their rights, of some sort...

Surelly you are joking..This would never happen..How would the industry survive.

All the bookies would go down the pan..and fruit machine shops..

Wetherspoons would not look and smell like a tramps crotch at 11.00am in the morning..

And 'Sports Wear' Firms would go bust..

There is an industry built around benifits, and they don't want people to spend them for food, bills etc..

You could make them non-transferable.

And if you're providing food, warmth and shelter how can this breach human rights?

Sadly you're not wrong smile

In the grand scheme of things I suppose the govt hands it out and they eventually get it all back again, so they don't give a fvck....I suppose these are core voters too.

Oh how naive I have been smile

Fake ID next.

I don't believe the 'Subhuman Roits'; benefits have inherent problems, and the 'solutions' cost more than the wasted money. frown

You don't need physical vouchers-photo id ' payment cards ' could be used. These would be topped up on dole day and any credit not used would be reset come the next dole day. The technology exists! As for human rights - they have the right to go get a job and earn money if you want cash. As a taxpayer I think its reasonable I dictate where my tax is spent

It's a good idea, but as said, it would probably breach some rights, even if they are kept with food and a home.

In Sweden there is a system that allows them to show receipts of clothes etc to the social services, and they then get paid back the sum, which has started them stealing, begging, borrowing or buying receipts of others to stamp in.
There is no way, within the law, to win over this scum.

Benefit Fraud was the very first thing the government announced that ID cards would not be used for.

Very handy, a paid voter base!

Sounds fine to me i'd happily give them £25 for £50 worth of vouchers that can be spent on food

If they would rather spend it on vodka and fags which they will be paying double for then great just means their benefits are halfed which suits me

Me too. But then the government will raise the benefits (Child Poverty, dontcha know). That comes out of our tax. And still we have a paid underclass with the vote. frown

There's the answer, on benefits, no vote!

yes

You've still got to counter the other paid voters- the 'public servants' that administer the system. They, too, are financially dependent on it's existence. Harder to sell...

Because vouchers would be demeaning to them.
Marking them out as unemployed to shopkeepers and fellow shoppers alike.
Bless em.

Having said that.....when I got made redundant a few months back I used some of my JSA to retax the car....so vouchers would have been a PITA smile

In the late 1960's I spent a year as a milkman. In those days milk vouchers were given to mothers with young children. Some of these mothers were always trying to sell them at a discount to face value. I believe the American food stamp programme has the same problem.

Been tried this was the result. The other wheeze was buying something on vouchers then returning for cash. Perhaps we should just deliver food parcels. However, the fatties wouldn't know how to cook.

How about doing community service in return for vouchers? 40 hours a week gets you £100 in vouchers that can only be redeemed against essential items. THey would soon realise that if you want some actual money they need to do a proper job and get paid.

Something needs to be done though...that fat chud the OP speaks of near as damn it gets a minimum wage pay packet in benefits every week which she just spends on fast food and smokes. Where is the motivation to get off benefits and work?
