In light of the punitive taxes and disastrous budget of unbelievable hypocrisy, I thought it would be fun to highlight the differences between us normal folk and the politicians that make the rules (to suit themselves of course)

Benefit in Kind of 40% on expenses paid by employer
v
No tax to pay on expenses paid by employer (eg lamps, kitchens, husbands porn)

20% BiK tax payable on all pension contributions over £20k in any 1 year by employer
v
Unlimited employer contribution to pension fund by in form of final salary scheme

Pension pot limited to £1.4 million then 40% tax payable (now probably 50% tax)
v
Pension pot unlimited (think Tony Blair and £2.5 million pot equivilent)

No tax relief above 20% on employee contributions to pension, meaning you need to increase your payments by 20% for same pension fund
v
No contributions required from employee for gold plated pension

Pay more than half (51.5%) your income above £150k to HMRC
v
Income dressed up in various forms (eg untaxed expenses and second home allowances) to exceed £150k but don’t have to pay tax on this

No tax free allowance above £100k
V
Huge allowances to pay wives / partners as “secretary’s” to ensure maximum use of tax free allowances. In our terms HMRC call this income shifting and charge you full tax rate if they catch you doing it

Have to work stupid hours & weekends to make a decent living
V
Don’t want to clock into the commons as that would reveal what a bunch of lazy tossers they are

Have to reveal all expenses paid by company to HMRC to catch you out and charge more tax
V
Vote to try and hide expenses from Freedom of Information act, an act that they brought in!

Any others to add?? In makes me mad just thinking about it.

Don't forget there is a 12 week summer recess this year with no actual parliament in session ( thats on top of the four week Christmas and Easter breaks)

What about private sector employment contracts that limit intellectual property and copyrights versus the opportunity to go and start a war then cash in on lecture tours and memoirs lionising yourself as the hero of Iraq.
