Yesterday was Tax Day here. All 50 states had organized protests, most consisting of many thousands of people, aimed at stopping government spending, bailouts, expansion of government, entitlement programs, and sure-to-come tax hikes to pay for it. This has taken the lefties by surprise. People seem to forget that moderate to conservative folks are the majority here, just a usually silent one. Hastily put together counterprotests were launched by lefties. Why would anyone argue against a tax protest unless they are benefit riders? Oh, yea....rolleyes The lefters seem to be very angered by these actions, as if protesting is their sole domain. I enjoyed the spectacle.
Was any of this reported in your media, or was it overplayed by what Hollywooder is sleeping with what rehab patient?

There was a low key mention of it on the BBC News website.

Caught a lot of it on Fox. The big question is whether the "movement" retains any momentum.

We would all be arrested under 'anti terrorism' laws in the UK if we tried that.

I weep for my country, she's gone to the dogs in such a spectacular way, and there is currently no sign of her rising from the deepening mire.

I usually enjoy Keith but he went all the way overboard during the election and became tiresome, as did Matthews and the awful Maddow. The more extreme O'Reilly and co got on Fox the more extreme the MSNBC evening crew got the other way. The funniest thing I saw during the whole campaign was Ben Affleck ripping it out of Olbermann on SNL, a brilliant impression and absolutely hilarious.

I heard it on the UK news a few days ago.

Made me laugh out loud when the American Reporter (female) described the protest as 'teabagging'....

She obviously has not had a proper teabagging; or has, liked it, and had it on her mind! hehe

They propose what has worked in the past; lower taxes and incite consumer spending. Tax takes will rise as a result. Also, give incentives to work to get ahead, not an incentive to sit on one's a$$ and become socially dependent....like the UK. wink

They try to play it off as non-partisan but where have these people been since Clinton (last balanced budget iirc)?

Not sure. What matters is where they are now. wink

It was interesting to see certain Fox presenters showing their support for protesters after their comments a few years ago.

I love the way Fox is made fun of for reporting on what was millions of people nationwide voicing their opinions, yet when a few guys wearing dresses show up on a courthouse step touting gay marriage, CNN, etc are up their arse like it is the story of the year. rolleyes

When were they made fun of for reporting on it? It looks like all the major news networks were reporting on it...
