I've no doubt Mr Cameron will be just as much of a tt as Mr Broon
No, no, no. Whilst I accept that it's very possible that Cameron could indeed turn out to be a tt, shirley no-one, no matter what their political leanings or background, could ever be as big a tt as old Winky.Martial Arts Man said:

Have you ever known a politician not to act like a brown-nosing tt?
Which labour PM told the yanks to get stuffed when they want troops for vietnam?"His (Harold Wilson) government offered some rhetorical support for the US position (most prominently in the defence offered by the Foreign Secretary Michael Stewart in a much-publicised "teach-in" or debate on Vietnam). On at least one occasion the British government made an unsuccessful effort to mediate in the conflict. On 28 June 1966 Wilson 'dissociated' his Government from American bombing of the cities of Hanoi and Haiphong."
Seems more sensible approach than the current one.

Yes, wars are hugely expensive (even if you put aside the cost of human life) and what exactly do we get out of it? We don't have better trading terms with the US than anyone else.So what exactly do we get for supporting the American line on virtually any issue you want to name?

We get lots of oil it seems from the current conflict. And of course, when one is bullied, it's always helpful to have a really, really, really large big brother to stand shoulder to shoulder with?!?!

We have nukes and are a member of NATO so bullying doesn't really happen. The last time we kicked off the Yanks stayed at home because joining in would have damaged their interests.
