The "new" terrorist threat
Discussion
Its that time again when certain unsavoury topics are starting to appear in the media that puts the Government in bad light. So lets get the propaganda machine back in full swing (had it ever stopped?) and keep the masses under control and in fear. Jacqui Smith is now saying (again) the British public is now under a great threat of a terrorist attack using a "dirty bomb" and are to train key people in society to prepare, spot and deal with terrorists. What happened to "do not let terrorists change our lives"? Is it more spin from the Government to bury bad news? Just like last Christmas, like a quarterly reminder, we are supposedly in the grip of fear from terrorist attacks or is it to perhaps divert attention from:
- the hypocrisy of criticizing bonus culture when MPs make questionable expense claims at great cost to the tax payer
- the failing economic policy and split in the economy between Brown and the Bank of England and the EU
- the recession and the doom and gloom financial crisis
- the up and coming G20 protests
- rising unemployment to over 2 million
- rising inflation and the shrinking economy
- MP sex scandal in the Commons
- introduction of ID cards in the Autumn
- the national debt to rise to over £1 trillion.
- the new unaffordable fiscal stimulus policy
- the failure of government bonds
- the devaluing of the pound
- the inquiry into the invasion of Iraq
- the Government monitoring of social networking sites
- UK forces to stay in Afghanistan
- the illegal Government databases

terrorism: noun the systematic and organized use of violence and intimidation to force a government or community, etc to act in a certain way or accept certain demands. terrorist noun, adj.
If you remove the word violence (whether violence has already been used is debatable, so lets discount it for now) then the current government would be the chief protagonists of terrorism in the country, non?

Thales won the contract. Typical that they can't even use a British company to develop it.

Why remove it? Try protesting against them and violence is used pretty swiftly, even if you are an 80 year old man heckling at a conference.terrorism: noun the systematic and organized use of violence and intimidation to force a government or community, etc to act in a certain way or accept certain demands. terrorist noun, adj.

That is the figure HaHa quoted at deputy PMQs on Wednesday when referring to her new "anti terror" helpers.I have just read the transcript of PMQs and can't find a single reference to this.
Yet, I am as sure as night is day that she mentioned this.
