I must be a cold hearted bd, but if you break into a house you get whats coming to you.

The story I read is that he was found in the hallway (and two of his mates were behind him) by the houseowner's son and his mate. He got stabbed. He be dead. I don't think it's likely that the two lads stabbed this fellow in the street then dragged him back to their house with two of his friends to create a burglary.
Either way, no great loss to society from where I am standing at this point. Unless some more information comes out, then he was breaking into someone's house and he got more than he bargained for. Well done householder's son, a medal for that lad.

Are they suggesting that the defence that he was a burglar has been made up?
For example, this young man could have been popping in to partake of 'light refreshments' at this house, where he had been told he could purchase said light refreshments. It turns out the light refreshmnets were not as good, or more expensive than he had expected, or indeed he had had refreshments there before and had offered to help sell them to his friends on their behalf and not paid. An argument develops on said matter, he trips and he sadly falls on the bread knife left on the chesterfield which they had earlier been using to rewire a plug. The purveyors of fine refreshments panic and have a brief chat decide to call the Constabulary explaining this unknown person had been burglarising their home and had himself been armed with the bread knife.
"Tyler Juett, 17, is believed to have been fatally wounded as he broke into a home in Old Basford, Nottingham, on Friday. His family said that nobody had provided proof that he had been breaking into the property when the incident took place. Leah Juett, Tyler’s aunt, said: “We don’t want to say too much yet but all we will say for now is that people make things up.”
Police have arrested two men in their early twenties and are treating the incident as murder. "

Yes. Some people make up all sorts of s**t about their friends and family proclaiming how butter wouldn't melt. Then all the gang friends start posting up about "solja" and it goes a bit t**s up?

Whilst I hope to god that we never have to be put in that situation, I'd hate to think how I'd react if I came face to face with some little scrote in the middle of robbing my house. Rational thought would be a second priority to instinct, and that could quite likely mean defending my property with whatever came to hand ..... It's about time that the judicial system stopped seeing these instances as "the poor little lad being attacked by the home owner", and accept the truth that the attack has already been instigated by the trespasser the second they made entry onto someone elses property, and anything the residents do to protect their family and property is self defence.

They claim innocence because these type of people automatically try and avoid any kind of responsibility for their actions whatsoever. It is a pre-programmed response."The family of a teenager who was stabbed to death during a suspected burglary pleaded his innocence last night. "

However, playing devils advocate, we don't yet know the full story.... so....
All else aside, does this not sum us up!
"Friends of Tyler set up a tribute website entitled “RIP Tyler — a Bulwell solja”. Bulwell is a nearby suburb. One dedication read: “I just found out! What a silly boy! What goes around comes around! RIP.”
Michelle Juett, Tyler’s mother, wrote on Facebook, the social networking site: “Why, why, why, why, why? I want my baby back.” She also thanked people who had contributed to the site. “Thank you to everyone who has posted messages for our beautiful son Tyler,” she wrote. “It’s nice to know he was loved by all of you.”
I see PH have been there!

http://tyler-juett.gonetoosoon.org/memorial/ - seems the link has been raided by the 4chans of the internet already, plenty of abuse has been left. (warning, there is a terrible British hip hop chavtacular song playing on the memorial, beware of this, turn your speakers off)

It seems they are, I can kinda understand why they think that, no parent would want to believe their child guilty and reading the whole of that particular reported story, it implies that there is more that went on that night that is being revealed.Reporter said:
Tyler, of Aspley, Nottingham, was taken to hospital from the home of Jacqueline Johnson, 46. It was her semi-detached house that neighbours say he was trying to burgle. Detectives were yesterday granted extra time to question a 22-year-old man. A 21-year-old man was released without charge. Four youths suspected of having links to Tyler were also arrested. Police released one on bail but were continuing to question the other three last night.
22yo & 21yo questioned - house holders son's perhaps?4 others arrested, one released on bail - Tylers mates. So 5 of them broke in, 2 householders fought back, 1 got killed
A spate of burglaries in the area done by a gang of his mates, he is bullied into joining in??

I remember another example of this where I used to live, where the mother said exactly this.
The following day pictures of him were found on the internet holding an AK47.

I think it's simple - if he was somewhere he shouldn't have been and got injured or killed as a result, then tough. If - and this will be the crux of it - he WAS burgling the house, then he left his 'rights' at the front gate in my opinion.
Defaulting to claims of innocence are to be expected - it's like every footballer on the planet who claims they won the corner/penalty/foul despite blatantly being at fault. It's like a reflex action.
If the kid hadn't been burgling the place he wouldn't have been killed. If he WASN'T in the property then there should be further investigation. I don't know what I'd do if I awoke to find someone in my flat but I'd be thinking about protecting myself and my home, not worrying about whether the intruder went out in a body-bag.
