Seems an unusal announcement to make. Plus a particularly unflattering photo.

History is indeed written by the victors frown

No it was announced that they WOULDN'T have a state funeral for her. Evidently something has changed their minds recently.

Why should Thatcher get a state funeral?

If it's for being prime minister for a while then Tony will have to get one.

Me too, I have always pictured her in 1000 years time in an electric wheelchair, not unlike the bottom half of a Dalek.

Anyway, as & when, I will be travelling down to be there frown

She was a lot more than merely a Prime Minister.

This country owes her at least full honours when she passes.

History shall afford her the respect envious cretins have attempted to deny her for the last 20 years.

Tony won a war (ish).

Politician shouldn't have state funeral (and that includes Chruchill) IMHO.

Because that's what time, reflection and an understanding of greatness does when divorced from petty class envy and misguided militancy.

Absolutely.

The only politician deserving of a state burial since the last politician that got one.
