Not least because of the repercussions which will be likely vast. QE2 only passed 4 years ago.
The situation with Andrew is still very much out there . Sarah Ferguson has recently returned. Harry and Megan are back.
A thread that mulls over the possible implications without having to address an event announced is hardly out of the ordinary and what will be presented to William and Kate (with her own health issues) to handle as the next generation is surely a topic to be considered.

It has never been announced that he is in remission. Instead it was announced that due to him responding well to treatment, doctors were moving his care into a reduced, precautionary phase.Similar but not quite as clear as saying 'in remission'.

That said he looked fine on Saturday from the pics I saw
Either way the media don’t get pre alerted.
As with all senior royals there is a well prepared and detailed plan, with all of the tribute material, scripts etc kept updated.
