Quite a significant incident.

I’ve seen video of some very big explosions.

I m the other side of Braintree and can see the smoke.

Looking at Google Earth the largest building on site has been used to store fertiliser.

That s my guess for what it s worth.

Can only hope nobody hurt.

Looks like a possible ammonium nitrate explosion.

Can’t be much else that would go bang like that other than actual ordinance, which I wouldn’t have thought we be stored there.

I'm in Chelmsford, but only saw this on the news. Haven't seen the smoke where I am.

Know a bloke who has a unit very nearby - roof set on fire & his van's been badly damaged, he's been posting video on FB and had to be checked over by a medic.

Mate also has his yard (and house) near there, haven't heard from him but hopefully OK as should be far enough away.

Orange smoke would be a fairly obvious clue even if 'burming shed on farm goes bang' wasnt enough of one.

I heard the explosion from south woodham, thought it was the bp garage. I had to drive home that way and there were so many emergency services (including a 64 reg Mercedes cls unmarked police car which was surprising) there were no deaths which is miraculous, but it looked serious, bits of tyre (maybe) in a field quite some distance away.
My friend there has lost his business which he has worked so hard for frown devastating for so many people frown damage to houses, cars, businesses, really sad frown

A friend has a business there (well nearby not right there!). He is still having trouble hearing today as the bang was rather loud...
