As we all know, Trump likes to "big" the USA up. I get that.

But I am surprised that Iran is still blowing up stuff hundreds of miles away from them very successfully and seemingly has loads of supplies and doesn't seem to be suffering much.

So why hasn't the USA blown "everything" they have up? Surely with the supplies/equipment/money they have, they should have obliterated every Iranian missile sight, artillery store and drone garage they have by now?

So whats taking so long?

I’m no expert but they (Iran) have had 30+ years to prepare for exactly this scenario and from the footage I have seen, they have miles of underground tunnels packed to the gills with stuff - if you can’t see it and you don’t know where it is, it’s probably quite tricky to try and destroy it.

That’s about as far as my conjecture goes laugh

You know Iran is quite big and launchers can be basically on the back of a lorry?

Iran has had time to build and disperse its arsenal throughout its land and when you consider the range (even its drones have a range of up to 2500km), they can literally be anywhere.

It’s not as easy at Trump or Hollywood would make it out to be.

Instead of spending all the money they make from their huge store of natural resources on making it a better place for the population the old pale stale and 100% male medieval thugs running the country spent it on weapons. Hence they have many of them spread out over a very large area that may take a while to destroy, even for Team America led by the biggest moron ever to grace the Presidency.

Anywhere between two thirds and 80% of Iranian offensive capability has been destroyed, but that leaves the remainder.

This tallies with reduced launches at neighbours over time

It's the Mercator projection disjointed view of the world again...

Wikipedia tells me:

More than 6 times bigger than the UK
More than twice the size of Turkey
Slightly bigger than mongolia

That's all well and good but the remaining 20-33% will take time to destroy and will no doubt continue to do damage in the meantime. So for all Trump's trying to convince everyone things are going swimmingly I fear this conflict is going to cause disruption around the globe for a little while yet; maybe that was always factored in as part of his plan but from what I've seen of him and his team I wouldn't bet on it.....

In terms of desert/mountains, this is also pretty representative:

It's got some similarities with terrorism in NI. The army and RUC had lots of people, lots of vehicles, lots of weapons, lots of excellent intelligence, but all the terrorist groups needed was to have access to a few small arms and some pretty basic explosives and that was enough to completely dictate the politics and cause mayhem. Even with overwhelming material advantage, the army and RUC could never degrade there terrorists enough. It's easy to sneak a few guns over the border and hide them and that means the threat of shootings is constant.

It's similar with shipping in the Straights of Hormuz. All Iran has to do is occasionally launch a drone to make the threat real and to have a huge economic impact. And stopping them with force from every being able to fire the odd drone is completely unrealistic. These drones are little more than the model aircraft hobbyists have been building for years. A mobile phone contains all you need to build a sophisticated autonomous flight control system; satellite navigation, inertial sensors, communication if you wanted to change its target in flight. If you really wanted to go to town, you could even use it's cameras for image recognition.

Compared to trump Joe Boden is an intellectual colossos, I'd even go so far as to say that what comes out the arse of my mums idiot bull terrier is an intellectual colossos compared to trump...

And as other have posted, Iran is a big place where a lot of their weapons, drones and missiles etc will fit on the back of a truck so finding and destroying each and every one of them is a difficult task

Missiles are so 2000s Drones are where it's at now both airborne and sea based.

America isn't going to be able to easily beat this - it will be another Vietnam.

History repeating.

It must sting when 'your guy' is proving to be one of the worst ever presidents in the history of the US.
