I couldn't find the original thread

But the Chief Constable has this morning admitted he misled the House of Commons by using AI generated evidence of a football match that never took place between Macabi and West Ham to justify banning Macabi supporters

I can't see how is position is now tenable

His latest version of the truth describes the intelligence gathering and assessment process at West Midlands police as follows:

Chief Constable: "Do we have any reason to suspect there may be violence at a game involving Maccabi Tel Aviv?"

Deputy Chief Constable: "I'll google it and let you know"

Well, I'm convinced.

It's absolutely appalling, just almost unbelievable

The basics of police work

A- accept nothing
B - believe no one
C- check everything

To use AI to search is one thing but just to accept the result is completely another

AI told them about a match that never took place .. they accepted that, they didn't think to check whether it had taken place, nor contact the FIU in Newham or the NFIU at NSY to ask for the match report .. just fking incompetent or deliberate

Either way I think he needs to go, along with those who concocted this web of lies

The future? That was yesterday. Today there is no future.

I watched the video of the grilling and could not believe what I was hearing. You basically get the idea WMP are being run by a subset of the community.

There are reports pending, so let's wait for the findings. However, right now it really doesn't look smart by WMP.

WMP recommended a ban to protect public order/safety because Maccabi fans were thugs. That ground is now looking very shaky.

For balance and context, Maccabi was suspended for fan racist behaviour by UEFA at a following away game, so not exactly angels. That though should not excuse WMP using AI to put forward a false risk assessment.

The AI thing isn't even the bad part.

It's the other made-up intelligence, citing Dutch intelligence, while the Dutch themselves state publically that the citations are fabricated and manipulated.

It's plainly obvious this is a case of some mangled idea of what DEI, whereby the minority that shouts the loudest gets their way.

Between using AI to do their work for them on an incredibly sensitive subject, misrepresenting or fabricating 'Dutch intelligence' or misleading MPs, I'm not sure any report will grant reprieve.

This is the shabbiest of shabby affairs and will only be the tip of the iceberg. Senior figures in all public-serving institutions will be at this.

Assuming that she has the power, the Home Secretary should have no hesitation in sacking Craig Guildford (CC) and perhaps Mike O'Hara (ACC), in my opinion.

To summarise, the public can have no confidence in the leadership of WMP, because:
  • WMP misrepresented what Amsterdam police told them about Maccabi fans' behaviour
  • WMP denied they'd used AI then admitted they did
  • WMP bolstered their argument by referring to a Maccabi vs. West Ham game, which never took place
  • WMP stated they'd contacted the local Jewish community when they did not.
Kemi Badenoch is correct: "The Chief Constable’s position is untenable. The British Police serve the British public, not local sectarian interests."

She doesn't have the power only the PCC does. She can however state she has no confidence in him.
The other thread got closed, no reason given so this one might have a limited shelf life too.

It’s so bad that a paper that continuously lies about Israel(is) actually has to report about someone else lying about Israel(is) .
Just need the Beeb now to latch onto it and it’s a full house .

Well I guess this is a clear indication of how our Govt now works. Traitors to the core.

Get some perspective. A chief constable (who is independent from gov) used some fabricated evidence to support not allowing a football match. A cross-party (not gov) home affairs committee has held him to account. All transparent and working as intended.

How are the government traitors in this instance, and traitors to whom exactly?

Isn’t the issue with the police here?

More like the minority becoming the majority in that region.
