Voting Intention (November 2025)

If there were a general election held tomorrow, which party would you vote for?

I'm surprised we haven't had a Pistonheads voting intention poll. Maybe I've missed it? Or maybe such polls are banned (in which case I guess I'll find out soon enough)?

Anyway, vote early, vote often!

There should be an option to vote for an independent candidate. Some people cannot forgive the Tories, are disappointed by Labour, regard Reform as charlatans, the LibDems as undemocratic and the Greens as, well, loons.

And yet, they wish to vote. Perhaps the ballot paper should include a 'none of the above' option. Failing that, an independent who campaigns on local issues might be the preference for some voters.

I've put Lib Dem, although I'd actually vote for whichever candidate from Lib Dem, Tory (or even Labour, with a very strongly held nose) that'd beat Reform.

The very last thing I'd want would be a Reform MP representing this constituency in Parliament.

Tory but only because of my local MP not because I think they did a good job last time nationally, they left the place in a right state (which labour are busy making worse) but can't vote for Reform as Brexit has been a disaster and we can't afford to have a Trumplite (Farage) in number 10.

TBH I'm glad there's not an election tomorrow.

I am surprised that national level polls are so negative for Labour. Tories offered a bright tomorrow, Reform offered a brighter future when we stop the boats, Labour offered "the last 14 years have been a disaster, It's a right mess we're in, there are no easy fixes, things will take time".

It was barely weeks into their term before voters were screaming "nothing is getting better!" and everything they do to try to improve core public services, reduce public spending and increase tax revenue voters scream "we didn't think these non-easy fixes would effect me, or anyone else for that matter!"

Despite your sarcastic retort Pauls comment will resonate with a lot of the general public, tactical voting will be huge next time round I feel as in marginal constituencies people will vote to ensure they don't get who they don't want. Opposed to voting for who they want.

E: Well its always been huge, but even more pertinent this time.

In recent years I've come to belive this should be an option, whereby any candidate who gets less votes than 'None of the above' is automatically barred from standing as a Parliamentary candidate for the next 10 years.

We have a situation with one side keeping the constituency Tory if it was up to the other side then we'd be in the same position as you, I think people vote very tactically to stop that from happening.

Hence the sitting Tory MP kept his very (300 vote) marginal seat at the last election whilst others with large majorities got wiped out.
