king grim as in doesn't get much worse
Labour MP arrested on suspicion of rape and child sex offences
Held on suspicion of misconduct in public office too thought that's obviously secondary to the far more serious reasons for his arrest.

Mr Norris is a former Labour minister who outed Jacob Rees-Mogg at last year’s General Election.

He’s innocent until proven guilty, so all we can be sure of is that IF he’s found guilty then - given he’s a Labour MP and we live under a two tier justice system - he’ll get a very light sentence, just like Mike Amesbury.
Well, according to some on the Marine le Pen thread as he is a politician he either shouldn't be charged in the first place, and/ or should stay an MP, as police and courts following the law is undemocratic = only the voters should judge at the ballot box and mustn't be denied the right to vote for a wrong 'unDingu said:
Using this to score political points is grim but unsurprising, it’s likely there are some victims having undergone something horrific and all some weirdos care about is cheap comments about politics.
Absolutely doldrums of society on NP&E.
I did wonder whether it would go that way but didn't expect it to do so quite so soon with the rubbish about Brand and grooming gangs.Absolutely doldrums of society on NP&E.
It shows a complete lack of concern for the alleged victim but seeing the names involved I'm not surprised either.
He's been suspended and had the whip withdrawn so my assumption would be that he's done for and we're into what happens legally and whether he stands down as an MP - no charges yet and far as I'm aware no way to force him to so for now he's there as an independent.
If the system allows that it raises some very serious questions about safeguarding IMO.
