Mother imprisoned for keeping her daughter in a drawer
Discussion
…for the first three YEARS of her life. There seems to be an increasing number of cases of horrific child neglect, abuse and even murder in recent years and I wonder what could be causing it. I’m not a doom and gloom person in general but there’s something very bad going on in society.

I just heard this. The sentence makes no sense to me. Just from the headline, I don't know the details, but surely the mother is mentally disturbed? How can she not be?
Based on the report on the ITV news the woman led a pretty normal life, taking her other children to school and out socially, even going out on an over nighter. Her partner never even knew of the child’s existence apparently.Shocking story that beggared belief.
I’m struggling to believe that the family knew nothing. How could the mother have been pregnant, had a baby, nursed it enough for the girl to survive, and kept her so quiet that the family never heard any crying? She clearly spent very little time in the room where the girl was kept but I simply can’t see it.

Exactly, it's completely baffling how this could have happened. Hiding a pregnancy, hiding the birth, hiding the child for 3 years... how the f

I feel so so sorry for the victim. I've got a 2 year old, at that age they're a proper little person with a personality and the progress they make from week to week is mind blowing. For a toddler to have missed out on all the love and experiences during that time is horrific honestly, it's really upsetting to think about.
