Just seen this on sky news and commented on the other Chris Hoy thread. Horrible to read about this happening to such a nice person.

Really gutted for him and his family, he's always come across as such a nice fella.

48 is young for prostate cancer. Casting no aspersions, but would he have been supplementing with testosterone when he was competing?

Four posts in. Oh well.

Awful for him, hopefully he manages to live a quality life as long as he can.

What has he was a nice person got to do with anything? Cancer's a merciless killer and will take young and old alike. At least he has some time..I heard upwards of a couple of years?

Absolutely awful news, feel so sorry for him and his kids. I know there'll be loads of other fathers and mothers who are going through the same too, it's no age to face death.

Personally I think LB made a fair comment, lots will be thinking the similar.

Gutted for him and his family.

And the more time I spend reading posts in NP&E, the less I want to be associated with PH.

I didn't, neither did my wife. But this is NP&E where victim blaming is important, regardless of the validity. "successful = you're toblame".

That's very sad, Chris seems a great chap.

His wife has aggressive MS also recently diagnosed.

I hope the remaining time he has is as kind as can be possible in the circumstances.

LB wasn't blaming him, he was wondering if it could be a cause which I think is perfectly reasonable considering drug use in cycling and sports, regardless of what your wife thinks.
But I'll check with my wife.

A very sad prognosis for both him and his wife.

He always came across as a good guy.

Hopefully he gets as many years as possible for his kids and family's sake.

Just watched him presenting the track worlds tonight. What a massive shame.

I see his wife also has advanced MS? Terrible for his kids.

No.

Blaming someone for something that no one has any proof of (testosterone supplements) is purely evil, quite frankly. Why thats the first thing that springs to mind for some is baffling.

ffs, 4 posts in and you are casting aspersions! Always came across as a really nice guy!
And with thighs like his, I don't think testosterone supplements would have made any difference! Cancer is just fkin evil!
