"Mohamed al-Fayed ‘raped five women’ who worked at Harrods"
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/19/mohamm...
Extract: "It is claimed he would regularly tour the department store’s sales floors to identify young female assistants he found attractive before isolating and attacking them.
The BBC revealed the allegations in a documentary and podcast called Al-Fayed: Predator at Harrods.
In the expose, the broadcaster claims that Harrods not only failed to intervene but also helped cover up allegations against Fayed."
I'm utterly shocked by these revelations, he never came across as creepy at all. Not once. Never.

What's that got to do with these allegations?https://news.sky.com/story/mohamed-al-fayeds-daugh....
A glimpse of the McLaren F1 showroom in the documentary. The showroom lease was part of the deal that led to Le Mans sponsorship, Fayed's flat was directly upstairs. Having been to that buiilding a few times it was noticeable how heavy the security and CCTV presence was. If that footage still exists there must be a lot of evidence of people coming and going.

I’m more shocked that some people carried on working there for years after being assaulted and raped on a regular basis. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/19/mohamm...

Go figure.

I read a biography of Fayed by Tom Bower around 20 years ago and nothing in these allegations is in anyway surprising. It was a fascinating read, he really was dodgy as hell.
That's the thing, I don't remember reading anything specific, but I had the idea that he was known to be a predator years ago, so really no surprise.Victims no doubt kept quiet by fear, initially of job loss, then of lawyers.
