PwC have been fined and had some profits confiscated in China after they helped hide the problems faced by evergrande

Last year they were exposed after helping corporations avoid the future tax avoidance laws they were being paid by the Australian government to help draft. The same year they were found to be helping Russian Oligarch's beat sanctions

Thier scandal list on Wiki is among the largest I've seen for a firm and before the election both the Tories and Labour pledged to cut government use of external consultancies

Could this be a part of why the NHS seems to be in eternal failure and we can't build a railway past Birmingham anymore? If making the civil service "more efficient" really means outsourcing to corporates stuffing their trousers while selling out governments then the whole "private sector is more efficient" idea is obviously a load of crap. Who would trust these guys with anything sensitive or valuable?

They all play the same game, McKinsey are he worst at one point they were simultaneously consulting with US drug companies to increase opioid drug sales whilst consulting with the dept of health to combat the problem.

Mariana Mazzucato The Big Con is an interesting read. She has a few videos up on youtube talking about the main points in the book. Addresses exactly the OP’s point.
