I don’t think there has been a thread started on this yet.

We now have 6 prospective candidates. I would start a poll however mods in their wisdom won’t allow me to start one.

However in that absence I am interested (not in a whole load of partisan sniping) in the views of the forum regarding the various candidates. Inspiring? Hopeless? Depressing? Under qualified?

So we have

Tom Tugendhat
Mel Stride
James Cleverly
Kemi Badenoch
Robert Jenrick
Priti Patel

Plus in the event of a merge Nigel Farage (just for completeness)

What are peoples thoughts?
Bear in mind that the current labour government picked up 20% of the national vote and its support is broad but shallow.
So one of these could be the next PM (unlikely but so was a labour government in 2019).

Think there was a thread opened but no-one paid much attention to it.

The race is "wide open" in journalistic speech, in that they all generate a similar lack of enthusiasm.

I've got another scenario:

They push one of their MP's into an early resignation which triggers a by-election, Boris stands for election and is voted in, he swiftly makes a run for party leader and again takes charge of the conservatives.
