I’ve had a few mates asked me that recently, normally accompanied by a prod of my belly and a few giggles

Isnt it just quicker for the staff to look at the forms if everyone has to tick the same boxes in this respect rather than the staff to have to divide them into male and female?

This is not new, my other half is an MRI radiographer and has had to ask that specific question for a couple of years. It’s also asked on the questionnaire patients fill out.
The department also had to change their ‘patient information’ poster, because the pregnant person on the poster looked too much like a woman…..

Yeah I'm pretty sure I got asked something like that at one of my Covid jabs.

I just said no and got the jab.

Not a new thing. The generic form for MRI scans has a check box for being or potentially being pregnant.

Those having such scans etc will usually have bigger fish to fry than to get triggered by a trivial question.

So OP what is your view? After all you started the thread, with something that must be at least 5 years old news.

Honest answer is why does everyone else have to deal with more crap because a very, very tiny percentage of the population can't cope with the body they born in.

I have no issue with people wanting to live they want to live but what is wrong with patients filling out a form correctly rather than having medical staff and patients embrassed asking a question irrelevant to 49.99999.....% of the population.

The world has gone nuts IMHO.

The nurse doing the pre-flight checks before I had my hernia done in January had to ask if I was pregnant. She looked uncomfortable but we ended up having a good laugh about it.

It's st like this that actually makes me glad that my time on this planet is nearing its end.

I miss the 70s/80s/90s even the early 00s.

It's a question hardly the end of the world. l have more things to worry about when I am going for my scan, as I am sure most people do.

If it is such a minor thing why are you wasting your time posting about it?

I was replying to you. I could ask you why you started the thread, as you gave no context.

Why? Can magnetic fields and radio waves affect a foetus?

No idea. Maybe it’s to do with the IV contrast used.
