Should racists be refused NHS care?
Discussion
I thought this was interesting enough to perhaps deserve its own thread as there will still be scumbags racially abusing NHS and other public sector staff long after the rioters are dealt with.
UK riots: People who are racist to NHS staff 'can and should' be refused care, health secretary says
I'm sure you could extend the same principle to all manner of other services but it's probably a bit simplistic to suggest all private companies are free to pick and choose as I'm sure some lower paid retail and service industry workers aren't empowered to give a swift "fk off" to anyone acting up where they work.

This is a fundamental attack on anti-discrimination policies in this country and is a different facet of the same nasty attitude that is causing riots on the streets.
I would question why the OP felt this nastyness needed further exposure?
Just another day in the bs newsfeed...I would question why the OP felt this nastyness needed further exposure?

Because there is an increase in the amount of abuse (not all of it racist) from scumbags to both public and private sector staff.I would question why the OP felt this nastyness needed further exposure?
Those people are often amongst the lowest paid and least empowered in the workforce.
Should they simply put up with it?
Wes Streeting has raised the question/option with regard to NHS staff and racist abuse so it's already got exposure because it's in the media.

You post something about racism and when called out on your reason for giving it oxygen try to say it is about any kind of abuse, I think everyone understands what you were trying to do!
I've posted that the Health Secretary is in the news for suggesting NHS care could be denied to people racially abusing staff. Most people want less racism and they don't want NHS staff to be abused by anyone.
There's an increasing amount of reports of staff being abused.
Don't take my word for it.
Investigation: Massive increase in racial abuse against NHS staff
Bit strange to think you're "calling out" someone for highlighting an initiative to try to tackle a growing issue but it takes all sorts I guess.

Is it a massive problem or just a one off due to the current issues? Not heard of it happening before.
Check the Nursing Times link above as it has some stats in it.It's got a bit of media time/focus now with Streeting's comments which as you say are because of the scumbags rioting but it's on the increase.
