A British soldier has been stabbed outside his barracks in Kent and airlifted to hospital. From what little is known he was singled out. Hope it is not as bad as reported and he makes a full recovery.

I’m hearing from other Sappers in Chatham that he’s a senior guy, possibly Lt Colonel.

Fingers crossed he’s going to be ok.

Update: his wife apparently pulled the attacker off the guy. Brave Lady.

Apparently in uniform too, so seemingly deliberate.

A guy on a moped, also apparently local.

There’s a local rumour mill in flight, but I am not fully convinced so won’t be repeating it on here.

This article has a photo of the attacker and more details only went for the soldier and not his wife who came out the house to help him.

This is what I read so far
"Police have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. They have not ruled out terrorism as a motive.

Ministry of Defence sources say it is too soon to deduce any intentions lying behind the attack".

Awful for the family.

Parallels with Lee Rugby come immediately to mind.

We shall see what comes out though.

It's actually a big problem as we saw in Nottingham, we have thousands of very ill people being cared for "in the community" it's a bit of national disgrace and one that has never been tackled since it was introduced, not every lunatic learnt it from a book.

Anyone surprised? I'm surprised we haven't had far more of these.

I know you shouldn’t speculate, but I would be surprised if it’s not linked to the court case yesterday.

The BBC don't seem to feature that photo in their reporting for some reason.
