Massive IT outage worldwide, some third-party component of Windows called Crowdstrike has failed apparently

Sky News, London Stock Exchange, airports and railways worldwide all unable to function

…surprised to find the entire world depends on one company I’d never heard of!

I went to Morrisons this morning. I could pay for fuel but not shopping, so I went to ASDA. I got around the store, but they wouldn't accept my AMEX, so I needed to use my MasterCard.

Frustrating morning, so if you have some cash in the house, it might prove helpful this morning.

What exactly does CrowdStrike do?

CrowdStrike secures the most critical areas of risk – endpoints and cloud workloads, identity, and data – to keep customers ahead of today's adversaries and stop breaches.

Yep. Walked into chaos this morning.
Our main business system is down.

This is a big one. Sky news down.

CrowdStrike code update bricking Windows machines around the world

BREAKING An update to a product from infosec vendor CrowdStrike is bricking computers running Windows.

The Register has found numerous accounts of Windows 10 PCs crashing, displaying the Blue Screen of Death, then being unable to reboot.

If anyone has any bad news to release today would be a good day to do it.

Going to be an interesting few days ahead I suspect.

Issues seem weighted toward Australia. Is that just a time difference issue.
