John Prescott has been chucked out of the upper house for failing to attend BBC

Presumably he is now plain Mr although the BBC report seems to gloss over that.

He's ancient and had a stroke, so his non-attendance is nothing to be ashamed of. Describing what's happened as being "being chucked out" is a bit inflammatory.

The honorific title is retained after a life peer ceases to be a member of the HoL, so he's still Lord Prescott.

As per the article, he suffered a stroke in 2019 and not voted since 2023, so I'd guess the non-attendance is probably down to medical reasons.

Yeah, it's totally routine, loads of them drop off every term. It's not a punishment or a sacking, it's just how you retire from the Lords. Media click bait.

"Chucked out" just seemed appropriate for his robust character.
