At about 2357 last night a man was seen acting suspiciously on Clifton Suspension bridge. A suitcase was found with blood dripping from it and a man was chased by a member of public. Another bag was also found containing more body parts. The bridge has been closed all day for forensics.
It’s believed the man arrived by taxi. All sounds a bit grim but not particularly well thought out, unless they are wanting to get caught.

The impact of shock I expect. Not as much shock as the one(s?) in the suitcase mind.

Taxi seized, isn't going to take long to find them.....

No ideas for a name

Roadways and footways are, I believe, very well covered with CCTV.
Hopefully gives good evidence and leads to him being found quickly.

Not sure I would have wanted to be the person clicking those suitcase locks open and slowly opening up the lid...

Does seem very odd. There are far more discreet places nearby. Lots of cameras and lights on the bridge too.

"Body parts" covers a pretty wide range of possibilities

Are we talking a Seven-style head in a box, or someones memento appendix in a jar?

Whichever, the Clifton bridge seems a weird place to go with it.

Sounds like he was planning on throwing them over the bridge but hadn’t thought of visiting the bridge first to recce the situation.

Odd.

Bristol innit. Nothing shocks me about this place any more.

Especially the homeless people who delight in taking a s*** in the car park lift.

Lots of other bridges over the river that would be far easier to chuck a suitcase off. Seems a bit symbolic, like a Midsomer Murders plot. Definitely very odd.

Certainly.

Smacks of either someone with limited intelligence or follow the orders of someone scary.

Let’s hope he didn’t order the cab via Uber!

Avon & Somerset Police press conference just then, released some good images of the man, much better than the usual grainy pictures taken from a mile away.

Can't imagine he'll be on the run for long.

"If you see him, we advise not to approach him" - I don't need to be told!

ITV News West Reporter : Need to determine the cause of death

I would imagine being chopped into pieces wouldn't do much for your longevity !

Someone was asking earlier if, instead of this being a double murder case, it was a double case murder!

Sorry.

Real crime is that they charge £1 for taking a car over the bridge!

Being cut up wouldn't make any difference to your longevity if you were already dead, though.

Not really. A lot of murderers panic or show poor planning.

Look at that Met guy last year - hire car under his own name, body dumped in woods next to a piece of land he owns…etc etc.. Gang murders - poorly planned, often spur of the moment/opportunitic - are another good example.

Murders - when a body is found - have a very high clear up/detection rate.

Its the people that go missing every year - a percentage of those will be undetected murders. Ones where people have ‘got away with it’.

Given time to plan I’m certain I’d have a very good chance of disposing of the body, setting up alibis and remaining undetected.

Having just killed someone without meaning to in a fit of rage and realising that the victim will be thought of as missing in a few hours (late back from work?) who knows what panic might make you do?

Unless you are an ice cold sociopath I doubt many of us could calmly sit and plan a series of next moves under intense time pressure with a still warm body next to us.

Maybe suitcase and bridge was best they could come up with?

Easier to hide them in the woods nearby. Something very odd here.
