What an absolute tosser.

The question is, should 'celebrities' get involved in Politics?

I think there have been many of them in the past that have, and have done good so i would say why not, but being a little more careful would be a bonus.

Suggesting that Badenoch should stop talking deliberately divisive crap is not controversial.

Claiming Tennant was trying to silence women is ludicrous, and that's what Sunak had become; ludicrous.

One more week, then the Tories can shut up, fk off and see if they can sort themselves out. Sorting themselves out involves getting shot of politicians like Badenoch.

They should stay out IMO. Every time I read an actor's Wiki article and it says "they signed a letter encouraging Scots to vote to stay in the UK" I just think they sound like a tit.

Exceptions for those who go in full time.

I liked this article on Tennant's comments https://www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/david...

To be fair to him (which I don't wish to be) he's using (the left's) tactics against them....I.e. ridiculous, meaningless equality hyperbole.

Celebrities can do whatever they wish, within the law. Of course, that may mean they end up looking ridiculous, as in Tennant's case. That said, I suspect Tennant was playing to his audience and I don't take his remarks seriously. People tend to say daft stuff when receiving awards, for some reason.

It's all a bunch of faux outrage from Badenoch to further the culture wars.

It's interesting to see Badenoch pivot instantly to turn this into a racist attack and make herself a victim, when it's clear that Tennant is attacking her for her history of being anti-trans.

I fervently hope this odious woman gets unseated but I am just one vote and she has been parachuted into a safe seat after Sir Alan Hazlehurst's retirement.

Yet to be seen in her constituency but that is nothing new and canvassing has been non existent

Interesting that Sunak pretty much immediately said "If you’re calling for women to shut up and wishing they didn’t exist, you are the problem." about what Tenant said but didn't seem to find it quite as easy to say the same thing about Frank Hester who said a lot worse than "If you’re calling for women to shut up and wishing they didn’t exist".

This.

One of the reasons the Tories are currently being flushed down the toilet is because of the bile spewed by the likes of Badenoch, Braverman et al.

Interesting you use the comparison of what someone was actually videoed and saying it, to someone who apparently said something a few years ago with no actual evidence of it apart from ‘he said she said’.

The hypocrisy of someone in NP&E suggesting someone shouldn’t comment on politics is strong.
