Very sad to hear that.

Great actor.
The character he played in The eagle has landed is a real standout for me.

"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

More people need to take heed of the messiah Oddball

Very sad to hear of his passing. The expression that suddenly appears on his face here still scares the crepe out of me after 40 years...

Edited for spoiler protection in case you haven't actually seen "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"....

Crapgame: Hey, Oddball, this is your hour of glory. And you're chickening out!
Oddball: To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some type of weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers.

Genius. May he rest in peace.

I think of him as Develin in 'The Eagle has Landed' every time his name is mentioned.

Great actor and by all accounts a good bloke.

A legend of the screen. Can’t say I’m shocked. But rest in peace sir.

That is exactly the quote I thought of when I heard he'd died, he was in some great films all the way through his career.

He did a great bonking scene with Julie Christie in the cult 70s psychological horror Don't look Now.

A must see, for horror buffs.
