Farage: 23% of young British Muslims think Jihad acceptable
Discussion
Farage is doing a press conference right now about Reform:

& he came out with the above - does anyone know where he got this stat from? On the surface it's pretty shocking & i'd like to read the full survey but can't find any other reference to it.

Can be quite hard to find specific polls on specific groups at the best of times, let alone looking for a specific one.
Jihad just means your own struggle, in Christian terms this could include a struggle against temptation (to not drink too much or cheat on your wife), but to non Muslims it usually means a religious war. So take whatever he said with a pinch of salt because there is a lot of wiggle room if you fixate on specific terminology.

A new poll commissioned by HJS has found that only one in four British Muslims believe Hamas committed murder and rape in Israel on October 7. The poll also found a further series of shocking results, including:
• Almost half of British Muslims say Jews have too much power over UK government policy, with similar numbers thinking the same for US foreign policy.
• British Muslims are more likely to have a positive than a negative view of Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.
• Nearly half of British Muslims would back the removal of an MP if they took a different stance on Israel/Palestine to them.
• 52% want to make it illegal to show a picture of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.
• 32% of British Muslims favour the implementation of Sharia Law, and the same number the declaration of Islam as national religion.
• Extreme views were generally more likely to be found in the youngest age cohort of 18-34, among graduates of all ages (as opposed to non-graduates) and British born rather foreign born Muslims, suggesting British integration policy is failing and needs urgent revision.

Does Britain really have an integration policy? If yes, what is it (in terms of concrete policies and actions undertaken rather than empty words and goals)? I’m just curious as I couldn’t tell you any. Jihad just means your own struggle, in Christian terms this could include a struggle against temptation (to not drink too much or cheat on your wife), but to non Muslims it usually means a religious war. In contrast I can tell you about Denmark. Here they are taking concrete steps to try to prevent foreigners/immigrants living in ghettos as they see that as a major barrier to integration.
I love a bit of a google.

The article states.
"He then quoted recent polling by JL Partners commissioned by the Henry Jackson Society.
'It showed that 23% of 18 to 24-year-old young Muslims living in Britain think that jihad is a good thing,' Mr Farage said."
This is odd since JL Partners seem to be a US polling organisation who do not operate in the UK.
The Henry Jackson Society is a right wing think tank with close ties to US neo con groups.
Looking at it site it did publish a summary on a poll on Muslim attitudes in March. Looking at that it does contain suggestions of some Muslim views I would be uncomfortable with. The one it does not contain is the one Nig is quoting.
A deeper look shows they say they used The Number Cruncher for polling. That's a reputable polling company but there name is actually The Number Cruncher Politics. There is nothing on there web site to indicate they where involved.
A look at the survey results raised a few questions. The published documents only contains the "results" but not the questions. That's very suspicious. Also the survey says it was 10 minutes. Considering lots of people ask for questions to be repeated, my even ask for clarification, then take time to answer. That not many questions considering the number and variety of Muslim views reported.

No, in many parts of the country it's self serve apartheid, white flight is a huge thing in the suburbs of Bradford (and has been for years) with people moving up the Aire and Wharfe Valleys across to Wetherby and north Leeds etc... Bradfords once busy town centre has been hollowed out as one wants to shop there it's very sad, everyone goes to Leeds instead, Bradford city and the central postcodes aren't multi cultural they are mono cultural.
It's not just Bradford many towns are blighted by it, successive governments have got it badly wrong.
