The Moody Blues keyboard player and Mellotron pioneer Mike Pinder has joined fellow Moodies Edge and Thomas in search of the lost chord.

RIP.

Sad news but considerig the amount of acid likley to have been dropped not a bad innings.

A true pioneer - it could be argued he started the prog rock genre.

I seem to recall he may have worked for the firm who developed the Mellotron?

His name is as Mike PinDer.

Always been a big Moodies fan. Pinder left the group fairly early when I saw them perform and n 1985 he’d already left.

Thanks for that, a unique instrument with an amazing ethereal sound that was never replicated in later digital instruments.

There was that TV magician guy as well who's name escapes me - he had something to do with them as well did he not?

...just Googled it - David Nixon!
