Back in 1994 I was in California on business. With the business concluded my colleague and I had a few days off and had bought our wives on the trip. On June 17th we decided to rent a car and so we got ourselves a Chrysler Le Baron convertible and took a trip and headed north up the 1-405.

On our way back later in the day, now headed south on the 405, we suddenly noticed that there was no traffic coming the other way. Soon we noticed that the bridges over the highway were full of people.

Eventually in the distance we could see a lot of blue lights coming slowly towards us. We wondered if it was maybe a soccer team (the world cup was just starting and the Swedish team were staying in our hotel). As the procession grew nearer we could see that there was a small white SUV in front followed by what looked like 50 cop cars and bikes and a number of Hell's Angels. It passed us and we carried on back to our hotel, none the wiser as to what we had seen.

When we got back it was, of course, wall to wall on every TV set. I spotted an American colleague in the bar and asked him what was going on. He told us and we explained what we had just witnessed. His response was "Oh my God Paul, you just saw the Juice on the loose"! hehe

Given his role in "Capricorn One", it *could* just be a cover story, until the blokes in the helicopters catch up with him.
