Next Irish Taoiseach?
Discussion
Leo Varadkar has resigned it seems, with a few names speculated as successors.

The Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Leo Varadkar will step down party leader immediately and will resign as taoiseach as soon as his Fine Gael successor is selected.
Announcing his resignation, Mr Varadkar described leading his country as "the most fulfilling time of my life".

All sounds a bit Schofield.
Good riddance to him. I was quite a firm remain voter for Brexit but his behaviour and chippy attitude as leader of a friend and neighbour (not to mention small country) led me to understand more why people wanted out and he pushed me to thinking maybe Brexiteers are right, get away from people like this. I still voted remain but people like him and Bercow were probably significant contributors to the leave vote.

Good riddance to bad rubbish
Horrible individual who I’ve heard some terrible things about from friends involved in ministerial protection in ROI
Hopefully some st about him is about to come out as there are very few I genuinely detest but he is one

I doubt leave voters had heard of Berkow or Varadkar.Good riddance to him. Varadkar wasn’t even the Irish PM then, so your last sentence is a clearly untrue.
Unless ‘people like this’ encompasses anyone that the Berxit voters disagree with of course.

With an election coming up, Simon Harris would be the smart choice. If he makes a hash of the election, he can be replaced. He's a very media savvy type politician.

It’s a dead government pretty much universally despised by everyone propped up by a massive green hypocrite in air miles Ryan who’s busily tweeting from his jolly to Brazil about the need for everyone in Ireland to use less energy M.
An election can’t come soon enough
It’ll be a bloodbath
The Varadkar resignation seems to have poleaxed everyone as only 48 hours ago he was with Biden playing the global statesman
Seems he had a private meeting with the head of the CIA just before returning to Ireland where he promptly resigned
Another one for the conspiracy theorists

Maybe the CIA told him that they know he is the one who got the Princess of Wales pregnant which forced her to have an "abdominal operation".Another one for the conspiracy theorists
No, wait, that's not right...

The most obvious answer is that they told him that intelligence sources had revealed he was a colossal Tw*t. Another one for the conspiracy theorists
