I don't particularly like smoking, but I dislike the infringement on personal liberty more...

As I said last time this came up, how will they police it? If it was law now then in 10 years time 25 year olds could not buy cigs but 26 year olds would be able to.

Completely daft and completely unenforceable - plus you get the comedic possibility of further down the line 40 years olds getting ID'ed for ciggys.

Best way to reduce smoking would be to get behind vaping and other nicotine delivery methods, however the puritans that make up Public Health don't like those either, despite nicotine itself being generally less harmful than caffeine.

Can't have people enjoying themselves now can we?

State jackboot strikes again. Why can people not choose? I don't need some idiotic politicians to decide what I should or shouldn't do.

Daft idea, the last things we need are more people sucking on stupid fking vapes.

Never in all my life did I think people could look any more idiot and gormless, but yes, yes they can sucking on those things!

Smoking is lovely and enjoyable, it's just bad for you.

If I reach 80 I'm going back to smoking, professionally this time!

This. It's just giving drug dealers a new product line and the ultimate gateway drug.

Good! Another nail in the coffin of tobacco is a good thing.

You'd think, however all this will do is take it out of the hands of the legal tobacco distributors and put it in the hands of those who don't have laws to worry about.

Great success!

Good move..

I'd support banning smoking in public in London as well.. Inline with the mayor's push for better air quality.

This is my view as well. As others have said, all that will happen is that the supply will become an underground operation.

How will it be policed I wonder?

In the future will we have an episode of Traffic Cops where they are stopping drivers of cars and giving them a tobacco warning or maybe giving them a tobacco swipe to check?

Because it's a stupid habit that costs the NHS nearly as much as Mr Kipling does.
Don't want to come across as a Saddick Khan and/or a miserable anti-freedom muppet but the sooner it's stopped the better.
Andy (mother-in-law died October from a COPD attack, father died 2013 of a heart attack while he was in hospital waiting for them to take his stage 4 cancer-ridden jaw to bits and replace it with bits from elsewhere.)
