No idea if the title will pass muster with the mods, it's about as benign as I can make it.

Essentially crap porn funded by the taxpayer and called art.

Tell me modern art isn't just a load of old bks.

I can't fathom how there's public money (and significant amounts at that) for this sort of stuff but no funds for things like public loos in most town centres, among 100's or other public service cuts.

Artists have always been slagged off for immodesty. It comes with the territory.

Well, I suppose bringing back public toilets in town centres would provide both an amenity and a depraved sex facility in one go.

yet more money spunked on pointless projects, the organisers deserve a roasting for this - that would take them down a peg or two

"Some roles will involve just snogging, others will involve vanilla sex and others more hardcore acts."

There's immodest and there's a £270 per person per day orgy funded by Scottish taxpayers.

I suppose it'll be more entertaining than staring at 2 blank canvases.

biglaugh Brilliant.

Someone should suggest it to the Arts Council, or whichever government quango thinks this is a good use of our money.

Does it matter that is relates to sex and/or sexuality? Would spending £84k of tax payers money be any better if it was a different form or art, maybe a celebration of painting with custard?

Outrage at sex makes no sense, outrage at wasting public money however does matter.

I imagine due to the content and subject, it will have an explosive return on investment with some attendees coming multiple times.

Oh my. I shall speculate that this has backing from the Scottish Greens.

Article said:
The project's description continues: "Guided by a queer team, and driven by a neurodivergent dramaturgy, we are exploring new approaches to intimacy coordination and non-simulated sex in the devising process.

"Through a consent and access led approach we will co-create the work with the cast, drawing on the different skills and experiences of each cast member to realise this fantastical erotic world."
Well, those certainly are all words.

I bet those words ticked a lot of boxes when it came to awarding the cash.

Doesn't the article say its funded by the national lottery and goes on to say it considerably more explicit than they where led to believe in the bid for the funding. Sounds to me like Creative Scotland are being quite sensible here in reviewing it and not wanting to waste public money.

It's National Lottery funding, not taxpayer's money.

If not this, it will go to another arts project. The whole thing is a non story.

An SNP Quango "Creative Scotland" according to Craig Houston.

Short video on it and other wasting SNP guff: For the older readers the title "Debbie Does Humza" raised (ooh err) a smile...

My disdain for modern art is broad ranging.

I do understand that art sometimes needs to be provocative and confrontational and beyond my comprehension BUT we're well catered for in the watching people have sex genre without publicly funding it.

It does.

I wonder if that sort of submission is widespread in the industry.

Sounds a bit fraudy to me. Write down what they want to hear to get the money and then do what you want with it in the name art and creativity.

It sounds like the kind of thing you could do with an iPhone and the local village hall. So about £12.50.
