Thank fk I live in the sticks - there's a st George flag at the local church & that's about it.
If Tower Hamlets residents really think a foreign flag is better than the local item, presumably they would prefer to live in said foreign land?
Are you suggesting that if a UK resident flies a Palestinian, Israeli, or Ukrainian flag (for whichever reason), you'd want them to move there rather than be able to stay in the UK and show solidarity? What a strange position to hold. Personally, I don't agree with flags being "weaponised" and used to intimidate people. Does that apply to those flying Israeli flags or Ukrainian flags as well?If Tower Hamlets residents really think a foreign flag is better than the local item, presumably they would prefer to live in said foreign land?

That's actually a good take on it. Not only that, we have a Hindu as the most powerful bloke in Britain.
Seriously, who cares? My ancestors are bloodthirsty Norsemen - maybe we're in charge of Britain?

The amount of pointless agro this seems to cause, possibly yes. Imagine flying a union flag in some parts of the world - you can get locked up, or worse.I couldn't give a toss, but some people get violent about this sort of thing.

I do not feel this is appropriate. This is the UK. I can understand people putting a flag in their window etc as a show of support but this is a different matter.

I would also be concerned that a local authority would be allowing this, given the conflict.

I've seen this with Russian and Ukrainian friends (who are in the same circles) where they get angry (or upset) when the other might display patriotric or supportive signs, including flags.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/flying-...
