Why apologise? Its his opinion, and isn't really far of the mark. Khan is a Muslim, so we need to remember everything he does in life is controlled by his faith, and its not a faith. In his mind Islam, Allah and all that is actually real, and comes before anything else.

Anyone who tries to call out anything to do with Islam is roundly, always accused of Islamophobia, its Islam's get out clause.

If you spoke like that about Judaism and Jews, with those tired tropes, you'd be called out for it, and quite rightly.
