Unbelievable. The rest of us plebs have to struggle through airport security checks, whereas you can probably just walk through if you come in on a private plane into City Airport.

Of course, you're hardly going to blow up your own plane.

Exactly this. I don't employ people to search me as I get into my car. Why would I?

How is this even news?

Fair enough.

Seems weird, but I've sailed back wards and forwards to France all my life and before Brexit nobody ever asked me for a passport either way. (Since Brexit nobody's actually met me or looked at my Passport but they want the number now.) Not sure an aircraft is that different.

If you turn up at the Tunnel on a motorcycle they often don't ask for a passports. (Due to faff - gloves have to come off and jacket unzipped etc.)

You can get a govt flight into and back from St Helena to Stansted, private side. Very nice, but they check your passport. Bags come in minutes and you're out and into the hire car in minutes of arriving.

Airport security is mostly theatre. Except you have to pay to not experience the show.

I always assumed this was how the majority of drugs came into a country.

You see private jet occupants getting picked up from the door of the plane and their bags been put in the back of their exec cab - nothing is checked as they leave.

I didn't think it was a case of "meeting you" - aren't you supposed (by law) to present yourself at the appropriate place?

I think you are supposed to notify them in advance, and should they choose to, somebody will be there to monitor the arrival and process passengers. If there's nobody there then you phone in to report in who actually arrived.

Before Brexit no, after Brexit you email a PDF and they decide if they want to come and stamp your passport which they never do. (Unless you go to a Port of entry.)

That's what this bunch clearly thought would happen: Farnborough Airport drugs arrests
