Shocking to see somewhere I drove by daily for such a long period of time.

5 on board, 2 dead at the scene. I also heard from a local that some passers by got burn injuries trying to help out.

That’s very sad. More so when bystanders, trying to help, get hurt, too.

Not good! Looks like they collected at least 1 car or maybe an RV too. Videos on line defo show 3 people climbing out. I fear the pilots are lost though looking at the damage.

Looking at adsb the approach looked very normal until they got to 1800ft and were turning onto finals at which point they lost a lot of speed and it looks like from that point on it was a fight to try and get to the airport but they were never going to make it they were too low and slow.

From pprune

HJ823: OK, ah, Challenger, ah Hop-a-jet 823, lost both engines, emergency, making an emergency landing

KAPF: [?] got that emergency, cleared to land runway 23, is that Hop-a-jet 823?

HJ823: We’re cleared to land but we’re not going to make the runway, we’ve lost both engines.

The guys on pprune are talking about that the flight may have not been refuelled in Ohio as it was a quick turn around flight. Possibly a fuel burn calculation error.

Someone else said that they could have hit birds, i.e did a Sully. Just no river to land in.
