What a bunch of idiots. Oh well, at least we know where they all are. Surely this must be the death of the Tory Party now?

Oh, no, no, no. A breath of fresh air to convince us all that replacing that fiddly duddy Rishi with a bright young leader* is what the country is desperate for.

Surely they have to be popular in the first place? Liz "5 minutes" Truss I don't think can really claim that?

I'd have said popcorn was appropriate.

"Headline speaker Sir Jacob [Reece-Mogg] will rail against an “activist judiciary” and an “out-of-touch oligarchy” in his remarks to the gathering."

He really thinks irony is a thing nanny uses to flatten his shirts doesn't he?

There are so many pressure groups in the tory party that they'll hopefully run out of enough MPS post election to staff them all.

She's delusional.

Some of which comes from some scary places.

The whole "taking power away from families and giving it to the state" bit that Truss said is a straight up fascist talking point. It appears in the Protocol of the Elders of Zion. It's basically the core complaint of The World Congress of Families (a designated anti-LGBT hate group founded by a bunch of reactionary Reagenites with Russian nationalist funding) and is a favourite phrase of Viktor Orban.

I've said before it's a real waring sign if someone needs to tell you they are "Popular" or reflect "Common sense" in their name.

Neither popular, nor conservative.

That had a strong whiff of 'has-beens' and shows just why the Tories are unelectable in their current form. Rees-Mogg is beneath contempt, but still performs his cos-playing toff role with some enthusiasm. If ever there was an example of people thinking a posh accent = intelligence he is surely the proof that the opposite is often true.

Truss can just fk all the way off.

Who was it that banged on about luxury beliefs? Badenoch? Braverman? Who do these people think they're talking to exactly?

Meanwhile, in the real world...

Who the fk let Truss out of the has-been cupboard? I was under the impression that 'grandees' were always around to put a lid on this sort of nonsense. How many splintered factions are now self-destructing the Tory party? 6? 7??
Sooner this shower fk off the better - totally disenfranchised like many others.....

Sky news reported Farage said its an extinction moment for the Tory's.

I will keep saying it hopeful someone at the party HQ seems this....You the tory party betrayed the middle classes with your ever higher tax and restrictive working practices (ir35) while making your mates rich during covid. You are an utter disgrace to everything I ever voted for.
