SUV appears to mean any car over 1600kg - surely that captures an awful lot of modern cars?

I guess it depends if they class weights by gross max, or empty kerb weight. A Clio e-hybrid max gross is over 1600kg...

It says exemptions for leccie cars. So just a jealousy tax.

1600kg? So the mildly popular Jaguar F-Type SUV. I see. biggrin

This st will come to the UK.

And soon it will be any ICE car on a tapered rate.

Then any larger EV.

And we can watch the continual spread of vape and bubble tea shops, and a reduction in any actually interesting/useful shops on the high street as people don't bother to visit towns. I certainly only visit Kingston once or twice a year and it's my nearest main town, much preferring to shop in a retail park or online. Ah well.

I think it’s a great idea, although less that 6% of eligible Parisians actually voted in the referendum.

So 3 per cent of people voted for this. Hardly a mandate.

Not an SUV charge, a tax that affects some SUV. Still, we all love a headline designed to trigger, don't we?

"Most cars over C segment tax" doesn't have quite the same ring to it I suppose.
