I see Prince Harry has discontinued his case against the Mail group. I thought there was a thread about this case, but my search ability fails. Is my memory failing?

I'm confused with the whole thing, I thought he won something recently against them?

That is the phone hacking case, this is a separate matter about the beeb reporting on his offer to pay for his security while in our fair isle. He put out a press release saying he had offered to pay, beeb said not until he was pushed into it. Toys flew out of pram, beak indicated he was minded to side with beeb. Strategic withdrawal.

And then goes to celebrate being feted as a "Living Legend" at the Aviator Awards, which I assumed would be against his eco-warrier credentials? Surely it won't be another example of hypocrisy.

No it's for flying Apache's in Afghanistan.

While Harry may have been winging it I don't think any actress from Terms of Endearment was involved in the case.

Which is odd because literally hundreds of other Apache pilots across the coalition weren't honoured for the same thing, despite some doing far more heroic things to actually earn the title of a "living legend".

I mean it feels like the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy may have only picked him for this award simply for the wide PR value, rather than any actual "legendary" feats the Prince carried out, but a million dollar non-profit charity based around getting kids into aviation surely wouldn't do that now would they?

For five months? Blimey, doesn't take much to be a legend these days.

Both side's costs. £750k.

An expensive but of petulance.

I’d rather have seen someone like Liz McConaghy get a hero’s of aviation award

17 years on Chinooks, the only woman crew member on the wing for years and did 12 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan

But hey I don’t suppose her mother danced with John Travolta

Nor would it have got any PR for the charity. Well, a minimal amount compared to Harry.
The charity game is a business, just like any other.

There is a "Meghan and Harry are awful" thread but it's been a bit quiet lately.

Thanks, I am grateful. For the link, rather than the contentsmile.
